Panel Member Bios:
Lynn Garrett
Lynn Garrett
has been the religion editor of Publishers Weekly since 1995. She joined PW in 1994 as founding editor of Religion BookLine, then a print tabloid and now a biweekly e-mail newsletter that has taken the trade journal’s religion coverage beyond an industry audience to consumers who are interested in religion/spirituality books and publishing. During her tenure at PW she also helped launch Religion Update, a themed quarterly supplement to the magazine that offers additional features, profiles and reviews. Previously a freelance writer, corporate communications consultant and book editor in scientific and technical publishing, Ms. Garrett holds a master’s degree in religion and a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature. Frequently called upon as an expert commentator on religion publishing, she is often quoted in newspapers and magazines and has been interviewed on CNN, NPR, PBS, Fox News and ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Mark Galli is the senior managing editor of Christianity Today, where he's been since 2000. Before that, he did editing stints at Christian History and Leadership. He is a graduate of U.C. Santa Cruz and Fuller Theological Seminary. His list of published books suggest he still doesn’t know what he wants to write about when he grows up: He is co-author of the Preaching That Connects (Zondervan, 1995) and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Prayer (Alpha, 2001); and author of Francis of Assisi and His World (Lion/InterVarsity, 2001), and Jesus Mean and Wild: The Unexpected Love of an Untamable God (Baker, 2006). He also enjoys golf and fly fishing, when he can find the time.
