Working with Literary Agents: an Agent's View of Today's Publishing World

Session Outline:
Ever wonder what today's leading literary agents wish editors knew and understood about authors, the creative process, and the agenting business? Steve Laube, whose agency represents dozens of authors, including Judith Pella, Karen Linamen, Allison Bottke, and John Fischer, will share his insights -- also drawing from his experiences as a leading CBA retailer and an editorial director at Bethany House Publishers.

Speaker Bio:
Steve Laube is a 25-year veteran of the bookselling industry. He began in the bookselling arena and his store in Phoenix was named the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) store of the year in 1989. He then spent 11 years with Bethany House Publishers, rising to the position of editorial director. In 2002 he was named the AWSA Golden Scroll Editor of the Year. The next year he became a literary agent and in 2004 formed The Steve Laube Agency.
